FPV LED strips are programmable or fixed-color lighting solutions mounted on drones to improve orientation, enable night flying visibility, signal battery status, and add some flair to your build. After 60+ hours of bench testing and three months of night flights on a fleet of micro whoops, 3-inch cinewhoops, and 5-inch freestyle quads, our team … Read more
If you have ever lost an FPV drone in tall grass, on the side of a mountain, or deep inside a corn field, you already know why a beeper matters. I learned this the hard way when my 5-inch freestyle quad dove into some brush during a sunset session, and I spent 40 minutes on … Read more
I’ve lost two drones to tall trees and one to a sudden wind gust over a lake. After that third flyaway, I started mounting a tracker on every quad I fly. Our team spent six weeks testing the most popular lost model finders for drones, from sub-3g racing buzzers to full RF recovery systems that … Read more
I lost a freshly built FPV race drone because I skipped checking a LiPo before takeoff. That single mistake cost me a $65 battery, a motor mount, and an entire weekend of flying. After that, I bought my first real LiPo battery tester and never went back to guessing again. A quality LiPo battery tester … Read more
I remember the first time I strapped on the DJI Goggles Integra for a long-range flight session. The integrated battery headband felt lighter than my old Goggles V2 setup, but after about forty minutes I noticed real pressure around my nose bridge and some light leaking in from the bottom of the foam. That single … Read more
I used to sit at my workbench for three hours every Saturday night, charging one LiPo at a time before a Sunday morning fly session. That changed the week I bought my first parallel charging board. One board, one charger channel, and I had six 1300mAh 4S packs ready before the kettle boiled. If you’re … Read more
ToolkitRC has carved out a real reputation in the radio control hobby space over the last several years. They make some of the most affordable smart chargers for FPV drones, RC cars, and general lithium battery maintenance. If you fly FPV drones, race RC cars, or fly RC planes, you have probably heard of ISDT. The brand has built a loyal following among RC hobbyists because their chargers pack serious power into pocket-sized shells. I have been running ISDT gear in my own charging bench for years, and I keep coming back … Read more
When you solder your first genuine Amass XT60H onto a 4S LiPo pack, you understand why pilots and RC builders call this the gold standard. I have burned through cheap clone connectors that melted during a 50-amp burst on a 5-inch FPV racer, and I have watched genuine Amass plugs laugh at the same load … Read more
Every FPV pilot knows the frustration of a battery connector that melts mid-flight or a solder joint that gives out after ten packs. I’ve rebuilt enough quads over the past few years to know that XT30 connectors are the quiet workhorse of the micro-drone world – rated for 30A continuous and 65A peak, small enough … Read more
